Former Dallas Sidekicks Players to be recognized at Dallas Cup XXXII
With so many former Dallas Sidekicks Players involved in local youth soccer, former Sidekicks Head Coach and now Executive Director of Dallas Cup, Gordon Jago, stated that they should be recognized for the great work they are doing in the development of local Dallas youth soccer. Each weekend I see so many former Sidekicks players on the sidelines at youth games coaching boys and girls of all ages. Giving of their time and soccer experience to assist the youth players to develop their soccer skills to the very best that they can be, it is no surprise to see the success of so many NTSSA teams in National and State competitions and in the newly formed USSF Academy Leagues. The coaching by the former Sidekicks has also played "a major part in the high number of local boys and girls that are receiving soccer scholarships from colleges around the country making North Texas one of the most "scouted" areas in the Nation by college soccer coaches. On Sunday 24, April many of these players will be at the Dr Pepper Dallas Cup XXXII Super Group final to meet former Sidekicks fans, sign autographs, posed with fans for photographs with Dallas Sidekicks Championship trophies and then be introduced on the field at half time of the Super Group final. Autograph sessions will commence at 5:00PM and the introduction on the field at 6:45PM. A tribute well deserved for all their services both as players and youth coaches. Players to date who will be in attendance: Tatu, Patrick Shamu, David Doyle, Nick Stavrou, Willy Molano, Brad Flanagan, Giampaulo Pedroso, Mike Powers, Beau Brown, Jesse Llamas, Wilco Ravestijn, John Molomo, Ricardinho, Diego Castro, Hank Henry, Doc Lawson, Curtis Partin, David Hudgell, Steve Smith, Rich Long, Gary Young, Greg Nichols, Frank Filo, Chuck Salas, Colin Rocke, Marc Stein, Sergio Franklin, Kevin Smith, Billy Phillips.
