Michael Ambrose and Jonathan Top

Jonathan Top, Michael Ambrose and Boyd Okwuonu finished a successful and competitive year. As part of the U18 MNT and coached by Mike Matkovich, the red, white and blue had the chance to play against France, Germany and Israel. They lost to France 3-0, tied scoreless with Israel and lost to Germany 2-1. The only goal for the americans came from Cooper Vandermaas-Peeler:

TFG: How many international events have you been this year? How many with FC Dallas and how many with U 18 National Team?

JT: I've been in 3, 2 with the U-18 MNT & 1 with FC Dallas

BO: I've been on 4 international trips this year. 3 with the USA -18 and 1 with FC Dallas

TFG: What can you tell about your experience playing these games?

JT: The level of play are higher in any international game for the reason that the guys we play against are in an environment where the train everyday. Then the level gets even higher when we play against a national team. We all really want to be at our best when representing our country. Plus, everybody there is replaceable at any moment so once we step on the field we leave it all out there.

BO: That the environment we play in needs to get better. We need to starting practicing every single day to get to where we need to be.

TFG: The last trip was to Israel, how did it go for you?

JT: It could have been better as far as getting results for our nation, but thank God it was a great trip. I gained another bit of experience playing against the French, Israelis, & Germans

BO: We started of slow because we had a lot of new guys on the team but towards the end, we started to bring it together.

TFG: Which team was the hardest ?

JT: The best team was Germany

BO: We were beating Germany 1-0 with 20 minutes to go.

TFG: What are you planning for next year?

JT: At this moment I plan to finish out the year strong with the FC Dallas Academy then probably go to college.

BO: To continue on same track I have been and just trying to keep improving on my craft.

TFG:You have had chance to train with the first team of FC Dallas what can you say about that?

JT: I enjoyed training with the first team because the level of play is higher & it helps me grow as a player by playing against better players.

BO:The speed of play is a lot faster and they are very competitive.

TFG: Having traveled overseas which team would you like to play with? any dream so far?

JT: My dream is to one day play & be a successful forward for Manchester United.

BO: Chelsea.

TFG: What did you do for Christmas?

JT: We got together with my moms(Margarita Top) side of the family at my aunts(Angelica Barron) house.

BO: Spent time with my family Preston Okwuonu, Scott Okwuonu, Willie Okwuonu, Ike Okwuonu, Imelda Okwuonu.
