FCD Jrs. vs U17 MNT Friendly

Friday 6.09.10

Frisco - The U17 MNT coach, Wilmer Cabrera brought a large contingent of his Bradenton Academy players in three 45-minute scrimmages against the FC Dallas Academy players Friday morning at Pizza Hut Park. Players from all three FC Dallas squads (U18, U16 and Pre-Academy U14) had a run-out against the National Team players. The FC Dallas U18 squad had their final tune-up before leaving for California to start their USSDA National Championship campaign. The first 45-minute game comprised mostly of the FCD U18 squad yielded a 0-0 result. The 2nd FCD group with a mix of U18 and U16 squad members broke the ice with 2 goals. Both goals were generated by the industrial play of Cody Adams as he consistently broke down the U17 defense down the left side. Cody induced an own goal and a nice assist after dribbling through several defenders. The U17 MNT pulled one back on a PK when the FCD RB pulled down the U17 Striker in the box. The third FC Dallas team in the last 45-minute set comprised mostly of the Pre-Academy team(U-14) extended the lead to 4-2 after some combination play of Emerson Hyndman and Erick Chapa. Emerson sprung Chapa on a run into the box. The U17 defender unable to deal with Chapa's pace pulled him down in the box. The second goal resulted from a textbook build-up from Michael Ambrose, Emerson and Chapa putting away the sitter in front of the goal. The U17 MNT slotted in their 2nd goal after taking advantage of some sloppy play in the FC Dallas backline.
