Dallas Cup XXXII Super Group Completed













Gordon Jago Executive Director and Randy Jones Tournament Director are pleased to reveal the teams that will compete in the Dr Pepper Dallas Cup XXXII Under 19 Super Group. In keeping with the high level of interest from top clubs and federations around the world, the Super Group will once again be at 16 teams (4 divisions of 4 teams) in 2011 representing eleven different countries. Tournament dates are April 17-24, 2011.“I really believe that the group of 16 teams speaks for itself. With so many different styles of play that should come from the 11 different countries, the fans in Dallas should have a great week” states Tournament Manager Randy Jones. “All of us at the Dallas Cup hope that everyone enjoys our beautiful game during Dr Pepper Dallas Cup XXXII”

Participating in the Dr Pepper Dallas Cup XXXII Super Group will be: Arsenal FC (England), FC Barcelona(Spain), SC Corinthians Paulista(Brazil), Coritiba FC (Brazil), Eintracht Frankfurt (Germany), Tigres(Mexico), Club Bolívar(Bolivia), LD Alajuelense(Costa Rica), CS Cartagines (Costa Rica), Chorrillo FC (Panama), Japan National Team(92/93), Vancouver Whitecaps(Canada), Dallas Texans (USA), FC Dallas (USA), Houston Dynamo (USA), and Real Salt Lake-AZ (USA)

The 2011 Super Group field is one of the best ever with two of the most storied clubs in the world noted for their youth development, Arsenal FC and Barcelona FC making their first trips to Dallas. Some of the best talent in North America will also be on display with a record four Major League Soccer academies joining the Super Group. In keeping with the extremely high level of soccer synonymous with Dallas Cup, the 16 teams participating this year have combined for 92 national championships in their respective countries.

“With the caliber of teams this year, we have an International Youth Soccer bonanza for the Soccer fans of Dallas” said Dallas Cup Executive Director Gordon Jago. Dr Pepper Dallas Cup is the oldest international youth soccer tournament in the United States, celebrating its 32 year in 2011. Dallas Cup contains seven age groups from U19 to U13 level and entertains on average more than 160,000 spectators during the week. Since its inception in 1980, Dallas Cup has played host to teams and referees from over 45 states, 100 countries and 6 continents.
