In one of the most bizarre stories of the year, the Green Soccer Bowl has been cancelled. On the surface, it was mesmerizing to watch an international tournament appear out of nowhere in a matter of a week. The Mexican football federation released the news last night; they have cancelled their participation due to the Obama Cup "did not meet the agreed terms and conditions". Texas Futgol was able to reach Cotton Bowl facility manager Roland Rainey Tuesday, "There is a tournament schedule this coming weekend. Event Organizer was racing to have ticket sales online.". Texas Futgol reached event organizer, Pius Oleh, Wednesday morning for a brief update; " If we can't resolve the issue with Ticketmaster, we will postponed the tournament for two weeks. If we can't sell tickets, we don't have a tournament". It is unclear if some of the teams have already arrived in Dallas. Besides the Mexian Federation, Panama had also released a squad list for the Obama Cup. The Green Soccer Bowl has had a checkered past of postponements, cancellations and venue changes.
