FC Dallas Players will serve beer for Charity

FC Dallas Foundation “Week of Giving” continues with celebrity bartending at Ringo’s Pub

FRISCO, Texas (March 16, 2011) – FC Dallas players and CEO Doug Quinn are joining the St. Patty’s Day party Thursday night as celebrity bartenders at the Ringo’s Pub Annual St.Patrick’s Day Block Party at the Shops at Legacy.
Team captain Daniel Hernandez and veteran defender Ugo Ihemelu will take the first shift from 4 to 5:30 p.m., followed by legendary MLS Goalkeeper Kevin Hartman and FC Dallas CEO Doug Quinn from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Fan favorites Brek Shea and Eric Avila will be tending bar from 7 to 8:30 p.m., while Eric Alexander and Andrew Wiedeman have the final shift from 8:30 to 10 p.m. All tips earned by the eight celebrity bartenders will benefit the FC Dallas Foundation, which works to positively impact youth through soccer, whether it’s with scholarships or healthy lifestyle education.
The Ringo’s Pub Block Party, ages 21 and up only, features live music, green beer, burgers and dogs with gates opening at 2 p.m. Beat Machine takes the stage at 3:30 p.m., followed by American Outlaw at 5:30 p.m. and Petty Theft at 8 p.m. The Spazmatics headline the live entertainment with a 10 p.m. show. The Ticket Sports Radio will broadcast live on site featuring Grubes at 7 p.m. As the reigning Western Conference Champions, FC Dallas earned its first trip to the MLS Cup in 2010 following a record-setting year that saw the club set MLS marks for its 19-game unbeaten streak and its 12-game road unbeaten streak. The Dallas side also tied the MLS mark for fewest losses in an MLS season with four, while the Dallas defense allowed the fewest goals against in club history with only 28 through 30 games. The Dallas side opens the 2011 season this Saturday, March 19, with the first leg of the Brimstone Cup against the Chicago Fire. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Pizza Hut Park.
